In the late ‘80´s the sewage collecting network from Mar del Plata led effluents to the sea at only 9 km from the city, for which reason local health authorities agreed upon some basic guidelines for the design of a submarine emissary that would not bring any suspension substances that might sediment on their way, or else float in the unloading area. In order to solve such needs, Skanska built a conventional type of primary treatment plant for the sewage effluents of the city. The Company was responsible for the total performance of civil works and for the project development, construction and electromechanical erection.
