Skanska executed the EPCM/EPC
services at Bajo La Alumbrera Mine, one of the major metal
fields of the world which is exploited in open sky, located
to the northwest of the province of Catamarca, at 2.600 meters
above sea level.
The main tasks executed by the Company in this project, with
a team of 5.800 people, were those related to basic engineering
(revision), structure and installations project, detailed
engineering, job site planning and control, and procurement
and contracting management.
Besides, the Company built the infrastructure facilities needed
for the exploitation of the mining field with a production
capacity of 180 thousand Tons of copper and 600 thousand ounces
of gold. |
