Duque de Caxias Refinery (REDUC) is the third largest in Brazil and its main products are lubricants, gasoline, diesel fuel, air gasoline, GLP and petrochemical gasoline.
The project for which Skanska was hired is aimed at increasing the production of light fractions obtained from the cracking of residues in the existing refinery, together with the production of oil coke. The project included the construction of the Retarded Coke units with a capacity for 5,000 m2/day, storage yard and coke expediting, loading pumps park, acid water units and units for amines and two electric substations. The scope of the contract included engineering, partial procurement and electromechanical erection of new facilities.
